Basic DSLR Photography :
Eligibility & Prerequisites :
The 'basic' course participants must have an interest and attitude to learn photography. The minimum education qualification required is the completion of higher secondary education. They must possess a Digital SLR camera.

What will you learn from this course?
- 1. See the subject. To see is more than looking and to become a photographer one must know to see the world around.
- 2. Understand the camera and human eye. Yes, the way you see a subject may not appear in a photograph. Why is this? How to make your camera work for you.
- 3. Make photos. Making a photo is a process and taking a photo is an accident. Good photos happen with imagination, planning and understanding the equipment.
- 4. To understand the basic controls of the camera. The new generation digital SLR cameras have a lot to offer for a photographer. Unless you know the various applications of the controls of your camera your imaginations cannot become an image.
- 5. To understand different kinds of lenses. Unless you know the various properties of lenses, you cannot handle different perspective of lenses to match the situation and your imagination.
- 6. To understand the basic controls like, aperture, shutter speeds, exposure and exposure meters. Learn to use the depth of field, the effect of motion and exposure creatively.
- 7. To see the light around. One of the most important elements of photography, light is very special and learning to understand the natural light variations and artificial light and making it work is important for a good photographer.
- 8. To understand composition guidelines and aesthetics of photography. Composition helps one to communicate effectively through powerful photos. Shoot meaningful images – understand artistic elements of photography, the vision psychology and apply it.
- 9. Tips to shoot great photos. Fine-tune your skills using the easy tips to make your images great.
- 10. To shoot families, friends. People photography is something one practices to prove the talent of photography. You win people’s confidence by specializing simple portraits using outdoor – available light.
- 11. To shoot great outdoors. If you love landscapes, nature, animals, temples, monuments, and buildings you can even make money from your photos.

Through extensive classroom sessions, demo sessions, outdoor tours guided by the mentor, and review classes.
What will you get on completion of the course?
Completion of the course includes submission of a project as a soft copy. ‘Certificate of Basic photography’ with grades is awarded to the learner at the end of the course
Intermediate DSLR Photography
Eligibility & Prerequisites :
Must have done the basic photography course in FEDC, or a practicing studio professional. Learners with visual communication/Bachelor of Arts degree is also eligible for admission. Must possess a DSLR camera with 18mm to 200mm lenses, portable speed light flashes and laptop.
Age :
Above 18 years.
What will you learn from this course ?
Module 01: Studio Lighting & Portrait Photography
- 1. Shooting people Portrait photography - Natural Light Portraits – Window light portraits - Use of reflectors – fill-in flash using portable speed lights.
- 2. Studio lighting techniques and correction techniques – Understanding studio digital flashlights and accessories. Studio portraits (Study to take pictures of people beautifully. Plus, how to make anyone look great! Studio Portrait lighting styles and correction techniques in detail) – model portfolio shooting – fashion and advertising shots involving people/models - out door portraits using studio flash and portable flashes – Speedlight controls – slave and master flash set ups.
- 3. Camera RAW correction – Understanding the Adobe Camera RAW image correction and editing techniques.
Module 02: Candid Wedding Photography
How to see and visualize a candid shot? - How to make the candid shots meaning full & storytelling? - How to use the professional studio flashes in the wedding events? - How to use the professional portable camera mounted flashes? - How to use the available lights and video lights as sources? - How to mix the above lights in a wedding/event scenario? - How to use Elinchrom Ranger flashes for outdoor couple portraits?
How to use monopods in wedding shoots for low light photography/top angle/low angle photography? - How to control the depth of field effectively to tell stories through photos? - How to use fast prime lenses like 50mm f/1.4, 85mm f/1.2 and zoom lenses 16-35mm f/2.8, 70-200mm f/2.8 lenses for shooting candid shots? - How to motivate the couple in a pre/post wedding shots?
This extended course module is available for interested students to learn Candid Wedding Photography. This module is also available as a separate and will be scheduled and conducted based on the number of enrolments only.

Through extensive lessons, experienced senior faculty guidance, practical exercises, reviews, and projects.
What will you get on completion of the course?
Completion of the course means, submission of the final project to the standard, which are mandatory for the course. You'll get a certificate of Intermediate DSLR Photography. Of course, you get a lot of new friends as well.
Advenced DSLR Photography
Eligibility & Prerequisites :
Must have done the intermediate photography course in FEDC, or a practicing studio professional. Learners with visual communication/Bachelor of Arts degree is also eligible for admission. Must possess a DSLR camera with 18mm to 200mm lenses, portable speed light flashes and laptop.

Module 03: Image Post Processing
File formats, Image resizing, Selection tools, Retouching tools, Image color correction techniques, Layer Masking, image compositing, special effects - soft effect, Toning, painting effects, text, customizing the software, Automation and preparing the image for print and designing your project album.
Classes will be a mix of theory and practical's. Two extra sessions for project photo-book design (optional).
